Over the past few decades technology in home security systems has advanced by leaps and bounds in a constant struggle to stay ahead of the criminal element, who also is working to stay abreast of the latest technological developments. The first home alarm systems used a land line to relay information to the security company and it didn’t take long for the criminal element to discover that all that had to be done to bypass this older type of system was to cut the phone line.
